What is the meaning of an equivalency certificate and why it’s required?
The UAE Certificate Equivalency Department (CED) aims to verify the genuineness of the academic qualifications issued by the Universities or institutions outside the UAE and coming to Dubai, UAE for education and employment purposes. It also seeks to ensure that these qualifications satisfy the academic criteria applicable in the country and assess them against the UAE standards educational as well as the university qualifications issued by the approved university or private colleges or institutes inside the UAE, with the purpose of upgrading the outputs of higher education.

The ministry has analyzed the information submitted to it through the ‘Action Plan for Academic and Administrative Reforms’ issued by India’s University Grant Commission, according to the embassy press statement (UGC).

In addition, they must have a minimum of 500 students enrolled, a minimum of 50 full–time faculty members, and a minimum of 10 research publications in the last five years.
